Let’s Talk NFL and Texas
What happens when Cujo’s partners up with the attorneys at Hamilton, Hull & Byrd? A lucky customer wins tickets to a country mega-star’s sold out concert.
As a thank you for supporting area Lubbock businesses, Cujo’s Sports Bar and the attorneys at Hamilton, Hull & Byrd wanted to give a little back to our patrons. We offered several chances for to win a pair of tickets to one of the five sold out Garth Brooks concerts at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock from March 30 – April 2, 2017.
Charrisa Gonzales (pictured) of Lubbock was the lucky winner!
The show was unprecedented as it was Brooks’ first time back in Lubbock since 1990. It was definitely a weekend to remember, and Charrisa had a ticket to all the action. With five sold out shows, everyone who attended had a unique experience, both inside and outside of the arena. Each show was distinct and an experience within itself – different opening acts (including wife and superstar Trisha Yearwood), as well as a varied playlist. Of course, he included the classics “I’ve Got Friends (In Low Places)” and “Thunder Rolls,” mixed in with the newer songs “Ask Me How I Know” and “Baby, Let’s Lay Down and Dance.” However, fans were treated to Brooks’ charisma and showmanship throughout each and every show. Along with his stage presence, he entertained fans who have seen him several times as well as making sure those who saw him live for the first time; it’s safe to say that no concert-goer left disappointed. Fans also got varied weather forecast; warm weather on Thursday and Friday, then freezing weather on Saturday and Sunday while waiting in line. Per usual, if you don’t like the weather in West Texas, just wait 10 minutes!
Brooks’ 138 million solo albums (and counting) sold represent the most in U.S. history. He has won numerous awards, including CMA Entertainer of the Year in 2016, and his current tour is shattering records previously held by acts such as the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. His most recent album, Gunslinger, was released in November 2016. And in case you can’t get enough of Brooks’ music, you can listen to his entire song catalog on Sirius XM and Amazon Music.
